Featuring: Disney x Coach

They have been out a few weeks or so, but that is not stopping me. If you haven't gone and checked out the collection, you should. Coach and Disney have partnered together for Disney's 75th anniversary and all the items are too cute! Whether you are a die-hard Mickey fan or looking for something a little bit subtler, Coach x Disney collection has got you covered. Below are only a couple of my favorite items from the collection, but here is the link to all the products.

Moto Jacket, $1995

On The Wishlist // 005

It's bag edition; I've been into bags recently. I don't have an everyday wear bag that is a good size. All of my bags are either crossbody or a bright color that is not appropriate in a workplace setting. Below are my favorites that are sleek, modern, and not too colorful.

Trending Now: Adidas Originals

Sorry for no regular post these past couple of days, if you follow me on Twitter or have read my last blog post then you might know a little of what's been going on, but nonetheless I hope to get back on schedule.

- - - - -

Unless you've been living under a rock, you probably know Adidas Originals are having a moment. Everywhere you look, people are either talking about them or wearing them. A classic shoe turned the trendy shoe of the summer. Bloggers and regular-day people are sporting them with every outfit, every dresses, leather jackets, and jeans.

Current Favorites // 006

First of all, let me say this: if this post goes up in time, I am shocked. Currently as I write this my laptop is at 2%, finally charging in a wall outlet, in an airport. Turns out I am stranded at Laguardia airport waiting 8 hours till a 6:00am flight standing with a laptop in one hand and typing with the other.

Update: sadly, this post did not go up in time. We ended up not making that 6:00am flight because there were no more standby seats and we instead drove home 12+ hours to Chicago on 23 hours of no sleep. Right now as I type this, it is June 28, 12:14am. I am back home, showered, and getting ready to go to sleep.

This post will go up Tuesday morning instead of the usual Trending Now post, but on Wednesday, I will have two blog posts going up to take care of lost time, so don't forget to check back tomorrow.

Favorite Snack

Plantain Chip. Enough said. No but seriously, plantain chips are so good! They are like a healthier alternative to potato chips. The ones I buy only have 3 ingredients: plantains, palm oil, and sea salt. I could literally get through a whole bag in one day.

Favorite Song

To be honest, Spotify has a much better version in my opinion. It is Dreamer with Kaptan and Mokita, but it is a 'stripped down' version. Again, this song is slightly on the sadder side, but I love it. Another one of my favorite songs by Kaptan is Anywhere We Go (stripped down).

Favorite Accessory

I just got these Ted Baker sunglasses and what is slightly odd is that at 20 years old, these are my first pair of sunglasses. For some reason, I've never wanted to spend the money on sunglasses. I am completely a clothes person above shoes, bags, etc. and I have never found myself taking that plunge. But I have finally caved; these originally were $220 and I got them for $31, what a steal!

Friday Finds // 004

Sorry this is going up a little bit late, I had some school work to finish up last night and I am currently packing my bags for a short weekend trip.

Anyways, this is the first time I had some free time to write up a blog post. So read on to find out what articles I found most interesting this week.

20 of the Coolest Spas in the States - I have to tell you I've never been to spa but who doesn't want an entire day to themselves of relaxation and peace. Refinery29 take you through some pretty awesome destination spas around the country that you can take on your next girls trip (or guys too!)

The Ultimate Guide to Brunching in NYC - Ahhh. How many times do I have to mention how much I love New York City? Even though I do not live in New York City I have a list on my phone of the best spots in New York City to eat, shop, and see. This guide is perfect for those of you wanting to find amazing food in the city. I personally have eaten at some of them and I can attest that they are great.

23 Vegan + Paleo Ice Cream Hack - I have considered going vegan before, but I've never made the full commitment because I love ice cream way too much. I have tried freezing bananas before but they just don't have the same consistency as a rich creamy ice cream. Upon reading this I have regained hope to go vegan if these are as good as they look.

The Best Time of Year to Buy Clothing for Less - Clothes. I love them but I hate them. They show off your personal style but they also make a dent in your wallet. I never knew that there were certain times that were better to buy clothes than others and after reading this article I might try to buy jewelry in February, swimsuits in August, and jeans in October

Featuring: Gabriela Artigas

Delicate Jewelry had its moment a while ago, but if you ask me, it is not going anywhere. They are simple, classic, and timeless. Because delicate jewelry will never go out of style, I think it is okay to invest in some good pieces; Gabriela Artigas makes some amazing pieces no matter your style. Have a man in your life and a wedding coming up? Gabiela Artigas has you covered with their Mens Line and Bridal Line.

*A lot of the pieces pictured above are gold because that is my favorite, but most of them come with rose gold and silver options too.

Subtle Choker, $160.00
Hook Earring, $265.00
Delicate Cuff, $160.00

On The Wishlist // 004

These past couple days have been the perfect weather for summer clothes, which means that all my cutoff shorts and tanks are getting pulled out of storage, and are now being put on display (aka just being hung on my clothes rack). Below are more favorites for all the summer days to come.

Trending Now: Pompom Sandals

Okay so I finally fixed the quality of all my collage pictures. Don't get me wrong, they are not pristine, but they are much better quality than before.

-----

I am absolutely loving the pompom sandal trend; It's a really cute way to add some color into any ensemble. I think they are so fun and gives your look a more playful vibe. What is also cool about this trend is that just like my 'Patches and Denim' post, you can totally customize it too. Just go to your craft store, pick up whichever pompoms you want and hot glue them on, simple as that.

Current Favorites // 005

Hope all of your Father's Day went well. But for today, it is Monday which means back to the daily grind and #currentfavorites.

- - - - -

Favorite Show

I finally finished True Blood, and I am so sad. I wish the series went on longer (and less main characters died). The TV series I have been loving recently is Million Dollar Listing: New York. I love New York and I love all things home, so it would be a completely correct assumption to say that I love Million Dollar Listing: New York. I mean, who doesn't dream of being a millionaire and thinking about all the stuff that you could have?

Favorite Song

This one is a little bit different from my usual music preferences. When I work, I like to listen to calming music and came across Time written by composer Hans Zimmer. It is a beautiful piece written for the movie Inception. He has also composed music for other movies including Pirates of the Caribbean and The Dark Knight.

Favorite Activity

I actually was inspired to pick up the piano again due to the above favorite. After listening to that song, I wanted to learn how to play it. Unfortunately, I am pretty awful at the piano; the last time I play was probably 5 years ago and even then I was a beginner. However, I have found some super helpful videos on YouTube, that teach you how to play songs which is what I have been using. I am definitely not great at it, but for only one practice and getting one hand kinda good, I am pretty happy with the progress.

Favorite Instagram

I follow a lot of fashion blogs, and Pepamack is without a doubt in the top 3. Petra's style is so classic yet so cool. What is interesting is that she doesn't wear much patterns and trendy pieces, but instead sticks to the basics. She has a great way of pairing items together and making them seem like completely different outfits, even if she is wearing some of the same things. He closet is seriously enviable. I think she recently started a blog, because the only place I could find her in the past was Instagram. So if you want to check her out, I would recommend her Instagram account @pepamack.

Friday Finds // 003

These next couple of week are going to be pretty hectic. I just started taking some summer classes online and the workload seems intense. There is a LOT of reading, hard quizzes/tests, and work due basically every other day. I hope this has no effect on my posting schedule, but just in case it does I am going to try to work really hard these next couple of days to pre-write blog posts for you so I don't get behind.

Below are my top 4 articles of the week worth reading (The first article is a good one and one I think everyone should read!) As always, let me know your opinions of the articles and share with me some of your own interesting reads.

How To Not Feel Like You're Losing When Others Are Winning - I think this is such an interesting read. I actually try to reduce the amount of time I spend on Facebook and Twitter because too often do I feel depressed afterwards. I mean when you are social stalking friends, exes, peers, you are most likely sitting alone doing nothing and seeing all the people around you having fun and going to exciting events. Even though we are not consciously thinking about it, competition is hard to avoid. Currently, I am struggling with feeling like others are better than me (handed more opportunities, smarter, luckier, etc.) If you are feeling the same way, I highly recommend that you read this article.

5 Brilliant Steps For Crushing Your Next Presentation - Another article from Dale Partridge's Startup Camp. It doesn't matter what your job entails, presentations will always and forever be a part of our lives. As a college business student, it is a guarantee that presentations are going to play a role in my life. I am a shy person which make presentations 10 times more intimidating to me. Public speaking is high up there on my list of fears. Anything that can slightly help my presenting skills is a must read to me.

How To Get Better Skin & Hair Overnight - Skin is in. When skin is clear and radiant, that just means less use of makeup and effort to cover up blemishes. Isn't that what we all want?

How To Get Smooth Skin By Morning - What can I say? Smooth skin is my main focus. I am not sure what changed, but my skin has seriously been acting up recently. For the most part, I have always had pretty good skin. I never went through a stage of intense acne, but I did get the occasional spot here and there. I had never gotten acne on my forehead, but ever since coming back from study abroad, my forehead seems to be the main focus of all my spots. Some of these trick are not only something that I think you guys should try out, but they are also for myself too.

Featuring: Quay

Last Thursday I did a little featurette on a company that I discovered and I really liked writing it, thus I think this might be the new Thursday series. Each Thursday I will feature my favorite items from a lesser known brand. Today's brand is Quay Australia and they make stylish sunglasses that are super affordable but doesn't compromise quality.

Macaw, $50
Odin, $50

On The Wishlist // 003

Here are some pieces that I am currently coveting. Summer is here which means it is summer sandal season. These colorful sandals are so unique and I love how they are lace up sandals. I need to add more color to my life and these decorative bowls are perfect to spice up my space. I'll admit, I have been wearing the same perfume for years! In fact, scents aren't really the first thing I think about, thus I have only one perfume: Marc Jacobs Daisy. Don't get me wrong, the scent is lovely and a perfect starter everyday perfume, but I am not sure it is for me. My taste in scents align more with darker, woodsier, and nature-like scents. I feel like sometimes finding this kind of smell is a little tricky especially since it can possibly be confused with a male cologne. I am hopeful that this Jo Malone scent is a good fit for me who likes more of a masculine scent but does not want to smell like a boy. And lastly, I just love weekender bags. Sure they are a little impractical especially because you have to carry them instead of roll them on the ground, but they are really cute and this one is no exception.

Trending Now: Bomber Jackets

As promised, here is the belated Trending Tuesday post. And don't worry, the scheduled Wishlist Wednesday is also going to be posted today.

. . . . .

To be honest, I was never a huge fan of the bomber jacket. They always reminded me of old and outdated style ever since I saw a photo of my dad and I when I was much younger. Me in my signature scrunchie and him in super large framed glasses and a bomber jacket. Just as history tends to repeat itself, new fashion trends are inspired by old trends... overalls? flare jeans? The bomber jacket is back and I am growing to like them.

#trendingtuesday?

So as I type this it is Monday night; I just got back from a brief extended weekend trip and I have a couple of assignments to do tonight. Sadly I won't have the time to write my usual Trending Tuesday post especially because they take a lot of time and therefore it will not be up today.

However, with that said, I have the theme for the Trending Tuesday in my head so for tomorrow expect two posts! A late Trending Tuesday and an typical Wishlist Wednesday post.

So ta ta for now and come back tomorrow to get double the content!

Current Favorites // 005

Hello from Kentucky! I am here just for an extended weekend helping out a friend stage an apartment. I hope this goes up in time as I am probably running around town searching for furniture and decor.

. . . . .

Favorite Activity

Yoga. I actually first tried yoga as a gym requirement in high school and I loved it. I am not sure if I enjoy it for the whole spiritually of the practice, but I enjoy the idea of getting away from your busy life and clearing your mind of everything. You really have to make a conscious effort to not think of anything else beside the present. And with so much stress brought through just life in general, it is a great stress reliever. Recently, I have picked it up again; I don't go to any studio or anything like that, but I do watch YouTube videos like Yoga with Adrienne.

Favorite Person

Last week I shared my favorite celebrity with lustworthy style and today I thought I would share my other favorite: Alexa Chung. Alexa's style is slightly more girly and country-like. She is often caught wearing frilly dresses and mary jane style shoes. Even though I am not a huge fan of that sort of style, for some reason when Alexa wears those items, she just makes it work.

Favorite Instagram

Anyone who knows me knows that I love New York City. So many streets to walk, so many people to meet, and so many restaurants to eat at. If you are anything like me and want to live the life of a local New Yorker, Caleb Thill is the one to look at. His pictures are not only colorful and have a wide range of the city's activities, but each one makes you want to drop what you are doing and join in on the fun. Below are a couple of my favorites, but check out his full Instagram for more.

Friday Finds // 002

TGIF! I woke up to an annoying bird outside my window this morning that would not stop chirping, so hopefully your morning was much more pleasant. Today's post is another #fridayfinds.

11 Super Effective Small Talk Hacks - This one goes out to all my fellow shy and introverted readers out there. I don't care about who you know, I am seriously one of the shyest people out there so this is more like a note to myself to read and reread. If you are also timid and need some networking tips, this is a must read!

We Tried Peel-Off Beauty Products - I never saw the day coming; the day that we would be having peel off makeup. There is something kinda disturbing, but oh so intriguing about peel-off makeup. It is just one more weird innovation in beauty that tries to bring something new to the market (spray on nail polish? rainbow highlighter?) But the bigger question is: does this thing actually work?

14 Ways to Air-Dry Your Hair - By now you've all heard the PSA: heat is bad for your hair. Even though it is tough to cut off the straightener and curler habit, the least you can do is avoid drying your hair. But if you are anything like me and find yourself with some pretty crazy hair after air-drying, this might me a good read to learn how to tame that post-wash unruliness.

14 Books Every Single Lady Needs To Read - I'll admit, I'm not much of a read. I much prefer watching television in my free time, but I want to be a book lover. I always have the ideal life in my mind of sitting in a fluffy bed with a good novel in one hand and a cup of hot nighttime tea in the other. My 'To Read' list may already be too long, but here are the newest additions to my list and maybe you can put some of them onto your own list.

Featuring: giejo

So if you are wondering, I still have yet to finalize a series for Thursday. I am actually thinking of a random/miscellaneous post each Thursday. But for today I am going to feature a brand that I think is worth checking out.

As the weather warms up and sunny skies are approaching, you may be thinking of hitting the beach and soaking up the summer sun. This means you need a swimsuit that shows off all the hard work you've been doing in the winter months. Why not look at swimwear company giejo. Their swimwear are basic but anywhere from boring. With many different styles and patterns, you'll be sure to find one that fits your style.

Trending Now: Patches and Denim

Casually walking into the Barcelona stores, one trend caught my eye. Denim + Patches. In fact the store I went into had an entire wall of denim clothing and racks of embroidery patches. What I love about this trend is, not only do I get a nostalgic feeling of being back in Girl Scouts and ironing patches onto my Brownie vest, but it is super easy to customize your own denim and patch look. I mean who doesn't have denim in their closet? Simply go to your local craft store, pick up any patch that catches your fancy and iron that shit on. Super simple and super customizable! If ironing really isn't your scene, below are my top picks to get the patch and denim look or perhaps you just want inspiration for your next creative venture.

Current Favorites // 004

Welcome back! I hope you enjoyed my first week of daily posts. If you have no idea what I am talking about you can refer to my new blogging schedule here. Anyways, I am back and as the new schedule indicates it is Monday Current Favorites. So read below to find out my current favorites and tell me some of your below!

. . . . .

Favorite Clothing Items

Shades of blue anyone? If you must know me, you must know that I love blue. I don't mean to pick up strictly things that are blue, but somehow it always happens. The second thing you must know about me, I love Zara. These recent years, I have gone from 0% to 50% of my wardrobe from Zara. I went shopping at there yesterday and here are the three things I picked up.

Favorite Person

Olivia Palermo is and will always be my style icon. Olivia has the ability to defy the rules when it comes to fashion. She is daring with her wardrobe and still maintains class and ease with each sartorial choice.

Favorite Song

I love singing to this song. It is uplifting, fun, and the perfect song for getting ready for a fun night out. The full album comes out July 15th, so give it a listen and get ahead of the others before the album drops.

Favorite TV Show

I started True Blood a couple of days ago and I am hooked! I'm not going to lie, there are some really cheesy moments that make me want to roll my eyes, but it is a cool, dark, and unique show. One of my favorite things about the show is that it takes place in Louisiana which is something I don't see too often in TV shows. The United States has many colorful people and it is interesting to view a plot line set in the south.

Friday Finds // 001

Hey there! Welcome to Friday Find. This series is just a compilation of articles and stories that I have found that are worth reading. Each week I'll share about 4 articles give or take a few that have sparked my interest and hopefully yours too. Have an article you recently read that you want to share? Leave it below!

The Real Reason You Procrastinate - In my entire life I have only met one person who admitted that he is not a procrastinator. Soooo many people put off that important task which is why I find it interesting to know why people procrastinate. After reading this article I think this article portrays exactly how I feel when dealing with a daunting task. I exactly align with the mentality that "it usually happens when people fear or dread, or have anxiety about, the important task awaiting them." Let me tell you, I have definitely become victim to the "self-defeating cycle" when we go on further to avoid the negative feeling of procrastination.

Money Diaries - This is not an article per se, but a collection of articles featuring modern day women and how they manage their money. I think Refinery29 does a great job of introducing women who are just like the rest of us (trying to maintain financial stability), and not receding to traditional patriarchal societies where women depend on men. I also just enjoy reading some of the stories just to see the standard of living in bigger cities. It has been my dream to live in New York City and with that you best believe that I need to get my finances down on lock.

San Francisco Decorator Showcase - I LOVE design and interior design is no exception. In one single home, it is so cool to see the difference in style. I like to think my style is industrial/contemporary, but after viewing each designer's creation, I would love to live in any one of the rooms. I especially like how so many designers broke the usual rules when it comes to styling like 'don't mix patterns' and 'less is more' and still made each room look amazing.

The Most Flattering Colors to Wear with Every Denim Wash - Let me first premise this in saying that by no means do you have to follow these suggestions; wear whatever the hell you want to wear! However with that said, Who What Wear has some amazing pairing that totally work! Burgundy + Light Wash and Kelly Green + Medium Wash. In my wardrobe I either have one or the other and now I desperately want to go shopping for some missing colors/washes.

The New Schedule

Hey guys, if you haven't noticed I've been pretty into posting frequently. I have mapped out a schedule and a theme for each day. However Thursday, today, is the only day that I haven't yet planned any specific theme. I have mulled over the idea of something like 'Thought Thursday' or 'Talking Thursday' where I just share with you something fashion related all in plain conversational text with no graphics, but I know that I'm probably going to run out of ideas or topics. So for today, I guess I'll just share with you things to expect on the blog in the future while I think of a theme for Thursday. I also plan on taking Saturday and Sunday off as those are the days I need to plan posts. As of today, the new schedule will be:

  • Monday Weekly Favorites
  • Trending Tuesday
  • Wishlist Wednesday
  • _______ Thursday
  • Friday Finds

P.S. If you don't know what "Friday Finds" is, check back tomorrow where the first post will be up and I'll tell you a little more about it.

P.P.S. As always, please leave me a comment below. Any comment would be greatly appreciated; I'd love to read some of your feedback.

On The Wishlist // 001

Welcome! This is a new series I am starting on my blog just featuring new things on my wishlist. While I am slightly nervous about making such a big commitment to blogging almost every single day and either getting too ahead of myself or running out of ideas, I know this series will probably never get old. Like any consumer, I have unlimited wants so I hope I will never tire of sharing new things that I am currently coveting. Below are some of the things that I have recently added to my wishlist and don't forget to tell me some of yours!
