On The Wishlist // 001

Welcome! This is a new series I am starting on my blog just featuring new things on my wishlist. While I am slightly nervous about making such a big commitment to blogging almost every single day and either getting too ahead of myself or running out of ideas, I know this series will probably never get old. Like any consumer, I have unlimited wants so I hope I will never tire of sharing new things that I am currently coveting. Below are some of the things that I have recently added to my wishlist and don't forget to tell me some of yours!

Trending Now: Flatform Sandals

I hope your Memorial Day was enjoyable. For me, I spent it at home relaxing and writing a couple of blog posts. I posted my first "Trending Now" blog post a couple of days ago and I am really liking this series. Even though they are pretty time consuming to research, choose, and organize the layout of these collages, they are fun to make. Here is a trend that I am loving and have seen around in the blogosphere.

Current Favorites // 003

Happy Memorial Day! I hope you are all enjoying your day, may it be a fun family barbecue or a relaxing chill day before going back to the usual daily grind. Below are some of my favorites of the week and I hope that you will share some of yours in a comment below!

. . . . .

Favorite Song

I realize that many of my favorite songs are a little bit mellow on the verge of sad. That's not my usual mood, but it is the kind of music that I like. I like songs with a darker tone and this one is not to far from it. To be honest I'm not entirely sure what the name of the song is because I have read 'Darker Than Dawn' and I have also read 'Don't You Cry For Me.' But whatever the name of the song I think it's worth listening to.

Favorite TV Show

I am loving House right now. It's only been 2 months and I am already on season 7. There truly is a reason why the show and the cast has won numerous awards. Hugh Laurie does and amazing job as House and the rest of the cast is equally great. The only downside is that the first couple seasons are probably the best in my opinion. Season 7 so far is okay but I much prefer season 1 - 4.

Favorite Beauty Product

Now that I have finished it and am no longer using it, I have noticed how much I love Elisha Coy's Water Drop Suncream. Unlike most of the sunscreens I have tried, this one is not too greasy and it is lightweight which makes makeup much easier to apply.

Favorite Game

This is sort of a random favorite, but I have been obsessively playing Minesweeper. It is an old game that I used to play all the time on my old desktop computer. I am so obsessed I even downloaded the app and I have played over 5,000 games. It is a super easy to understand game and highly addictive. It is perfect for taking up time while you are waiting at the DMV or waiting at the doctor's office.

Current Favorites // 002

I know my last post was a Current Favorites, but I have to say that I am liking these posts. They really aren't specific to any topic and I am talking about my favorites. And as always, I would love it if you would leave a comment below telling me what some of your favorites are!

. . . . .

Favorite Song

This song is pretty different than my last favorite song, but nonetheless, it is amazing. Andra Day has such a powerful and captivating voice. The song is very uplifting and I always feel 'larger than life' after hearing this song. It makes me feel like I am going to tackle my biggest fear and kill it. After listening to this song it makes me feel more confident and ambitious. There are many videos of Andra Day's "Rise Up" on YouTube, but the one below is from The Ellen Show, which, in my opinion, is the best one

Favorite App

Feast is my current favorite app. Actually, having a favorite app is quite rare because I don't tend to download apps that frequently on my phone. This one is for my foodies out there. Recipes from different chefs all strategically categorized. Vegetarian? You can easily weed out meals with meat. They also have filters for you if you are Gluten-free, Vegan-friendly, Nut-free, etc. You can favorite recipes, there are beautiful vibrant photos, and my favorite part is the method videos where they teach you how to do things like chop an onion or clean a muscle (perfect for a beginner cook, like me!) The only downside though is the fact that not all recipes are free. There are still plenty of recipes that you don't have to have a premium account for, but there are other times I get disappointed when I find a recipe is locked.

Favorite Person

Karlie Kloss. You probably know her as a Victoria Secret model or one of Taylor Swift's best friends, but she is actually quite cool and now one of my role models. Karlie is more than meets the eye; she is truly an inspiring individual. She has been using her voice to promote girls who code in a predominantly male field. Karlie has partnered with the Flatiron School and created the Kode with Karlie Scholarship for twenty girls to attend the Flatiron School and take courses in software engineering. I wish I was eligible, but at twenty, sadly I am too old. I wish this opportunity was around when I was in high school; but I guess this is still an opportunity to share it with others. So if you are are girl between 13 and 18 and interested in coding, you should check out the Kode with Karlie Scholarship. Below is the official video. (I can't believe it doesn't have more views, but in a way, it is a good thing; if you are interested and eligible, you will probably have a better chance of being one of the twenty)

Favorite Dog

And lastly, on a lighter note, my favorite dog. I just got back from a three-month study abroad trip in Barcelona, where they truly love their dogs. Not a single day goes by where I didn't see or hear a dog.  Seeing them with my two eyes, which surprisingly, had never happened before, only enhanced my love for West Highland Terriers. I don't think much else needs to be said because they say a picture is worth a thousand words; therefore I leave you with this cute face.
